"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
- Helen Keller
With a master's degree in mental health counseling, and twenty years of experience in social work and the clinical field, I was still unprepared for my life's most challenging hurdles. Through a series of cathartic experiences, I was compelled to search for alternative solutions, to rise above, and to ultimately obtain the self-healing I was looking for, mind, body, and soul.
During the darkest days, I struggled with acute chronic stress from a high burnout job I held, and I had allowed myself to become entangled with multiple crisis scenarios from my family of origin. This led me to my first crossroads with a knowing that something had to change.
I later discovered I had fractured my back several years prior, without my being aware of it at the time of the injury. The damage done was seriously taking its toll on my body. I was informed by the medical field, there was nothing that could be done.
Through each adversity, I began to expand. I was inspired to take up a meditation practice after coming across Deepak Chopra's book, The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire. And when my beloved, 4-legged beast was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer, I learned Reiki. This was my introduction to the energetic body, and the physical sensations revealed to me were mind-blowing. I was dumfounded that this basic information was not common knowledge in our society.
From there, I was intrigued to learn more about this mysterious world I had been missing out on, and that had been hidden from me. The world where science meets spirituality, and the quantum field can produce miraculous results. I read books, did research, watched Gaia television, took classes, and participated in groups.
With my spiritual awareness deepening, and the extensive body of knowledge on alternative healing unveiled through my exploration, I saw my clinical work differently. I became exceptionally conscientious of the lack of resources available for youth in care with social, emotional, and behavioral issues. They were offered therapy, and psychotropic medication alone. When I began working with at-risk biological families, it became abundantly clear how the layers of risk factors transformed into physical illness with the adults in the home. These revelations uncovered the significant need to educate the public on the vast options for wellness available, and the value in teaching empowered self-healing.
These epiphanies steered the way for the development of my Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Library. This library encompasses a comprehensive look at how healing works as well as the variety of healing options available.
Through my personal journey to holistically heal, I found spirituality. It was a path that resonated with me in a profound way, despite my non-religious/non-spiritual familial roots. By raising my vibration using multiple means and methods, and exploring the deeply embedded limitations, energetic blocks, and habitual patterns I held, the fears, doubts, judgements, and all of the misperceptions I held were dissolved. I was able to move beyond my egoic state of being and reach full awakening. With this awakening, came the ultimate healing I was looking for, mind, body, and soul.
As I move forward from these experiences, and the wisdom I have gained, I am driven to help others achieve this same result. Without the resistance we often unknowingly hold, there is boundless self-love, clarity, creativity, motivation, and a freedom that allows us to live our dreams. It is time for healing on every level. It is time for radical transformation! ❤️
